<p>Volume II OMTL-368 Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program R. 8/1/10</p><p>MS 2090 RESIDENTS OF INSTITUTIONS</p><p>[Only the following residents of institutions can participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP):]</p><p>A. Residents of federally subsidized housing for the elderly. </p><p>B. Narcotics addicts or alcoholics and their children who reside at a facility or treatment center for the purpose of regular participation in a drug or alcohol treatment and rehabilitation program which meets the criteria specified in MS 2600.</p><p>C. Blind, aged or disabled individuals who meet the definition of "Disabled" and who are residents of a group living arrangement.</p><p>D. Women or women with their children temporarily residing in a shelter for battered women and children.</p><p>E. Residents of temporary shelters for the homeless. </p><p>F. Applications received from the Social Security Administration (SSA) for SSI applicants who are residents of institutions. The application is held for processing until the SSA advises the local office of a release date. (Refer to MS 3155 for details.)</p><p>G. Residents of dormitories or other on-campus housing who do not have meal tickets.</p>
