Upcoming IIA Milwaukee Chapter and Other Events Include

<p>March 2014 President’s Message</p><p>I know spring is around the corner even if the weather continues to behave like winter. We have some excellent events coming up in the next few months that everyone should try to attend. </p><p>Upcoming IIA Milwaukee chapter and other events include:</p><p>March</p><p>On March 7th, there is an ACL User Group Meeting. </p><p>On March 25th, a Junior Achievement Finance Park volunteer event is planned. This half day event is a chance for volunteers to introduce students to personal finance and career exploration. Evaluations show that the program has contributed to students understanding that it is important to stay in school to get a good job in order to have financial success as an adult. </p><p>On March 26th at Maggiano’s Restaurant in Wauwatosa for lunch, an Auditing Strategic Risk event is planned. The objectives of this seminar include: Identify the components of the strategic planning process, identify the key steps to incorporating strategic risk into the audit plan, describe various types and examples of strategic audit engagements, demonstrate linkages between traditional and strategic audit engagements, and identify core competencies required of internal auditors to effectively assess strategic risks</p><p>April</p><p>On April 7th, the IIA Chicago chapter is hosting their 54th Annual one day seminar. Tracks include: Audit Management, Technical & Analytical Skills, Industry Hot Topics, Information Technology, Risk Management, and Soft Skills. </p><p>On April 11th, PWC will be hosting a Wisconsin Chief Audit Executive Network Roundtable. Topics include: Cyber Security, Mobile Device Security Considerations, and the Updated COSO Framework. </p><p>On April 17th, we will be hosting a Data Analytics event. </p><p>May</p><p>On May 18th through May 21st, the Indianapolis IIA Chapter is hosting the 2014 Central Regional Conference. Tracks include: IT Audit and Information Security, Financial and Process-based Auditing, Governance, Fraud, and Ethics, Specialty Topics, and the CIA Review Course. </p><p>A first ever joint Mystery Fraud Event with the ACFE Milwaukee Chapter will be held on May 20th. This 3 CPE event will have you participate in evaluating evidence, interviewing suspects, and working on a live case resolution. On May 30th, the IIA NW Metro Chicago Chapter and Sears Holdings are hosting their Third Annual Fraud Conference.
