
<p> Analysis of Inter-regional Dependency of the Six</p><p>Regions in Korea </p><p>By </p><p>Chonggui Kim* Head, Input-Output Statistics Team, Economic Statistics Dept., Bank of Korea, Seoul, Korea e-mail: [email protected]</p><p>The 2003 inter-regional input-output table is the first inter-regional I/O table for</p><p>Korea and is under compilation together with the 2003 national I/O table now.</p><p>The inter-regional I/O table is composed of inter/intra regional information for the six regions in Korea, and so the table could be utilized as the basic tool for the regional inter-relationship analysis with information of inter-regional import and export in the table. For the accuracy of the inter-regional IO table, we took the real survey for technology structure and inter-regional import and export, and followed the 1993 SNA on a par with the national I/O table. </p><p>The inter-regional I/O table is necessary to analyze the inter-relationships between regions and sectors which have the different production technology structure. Therefore this paper examines the conceptual and practical problems of constructing the 2003 inter-regional I/O table for Korea.
