Her update from board was as follows:  Calendar committee met on the 20th trying to coordinate days off between elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools.  Amber is happy to take concerns by e-mail.  Town Hall meeting on October 21st at 7:00PM in the Albion Choir Room they will be addressing concerns about the proposal from instructional supports for dual immersion in the high schools.  Information was given about the last SCC training meeting on Wednesday October 28th 6:30 PM Jordan High School.</p><p>SCC Business: (45 min) Approve September 2015 Minutes: Cindy Baker Motioned Janice SpencerWise Seconded</p><p>SCC Training - touch base on 2015-16 timeline: Kodi passed around expectations for each month, and what the SCC is supposed to accomplish. </p><p>Counselor’s Report  New Department Head  Lifeline is this evening (suicide prevention) two for one ARC with a parent.  Completing CCRs with seniors, finished by Friday  Monday they start ninth grade CCR’s  College application week 16-20th November  Data project—raise benchmark scores for ACT Results—Reading has increased. 26% of juniors didn’t meet benchmark, 20% of sophomores didn’t meet benchmarks in PLAN test the counseling center has designed interventions for these students. </p><p>Faculty Report  A reminder to parents, please check Skyward  Attendance will affect grades  Tonight is ARC night two for one with a parent </p><p>Principal’s Report Breakdown of cell tower budget/funds.  Spending update—break down of spending, you can find it on land trust website.  Clarified cell tower budget amendments made last week  Added 1,000 for academic field trips Motion: Julie Clawson Seconded: Cindy Baker  500 for faculty opening breakfast  500 for treats and water for PTC  500 for feeder luncheon  Review of where Cell Tower funds are coming from  Teachers are reading Generation IY, Dr. Elmore could come and do a lecture to the teachers in June, teachers would be paid the in service rate.  Ms. Hilton addressed Simi Fehoko’s public announcement for his acceptance of the Army All-American bowl invitation. Army All-American requires a public announcement for accepted players.  Brighton will be inducted into the NFL super bowl hall of fame Gold Ball will be presented on the same day as the Army All-American assembly.  HYPE classes and CTESS instruction on teacher professional day  PT conferences same format as last time, admin is listening to and monitoring feedback, any other concerns talk to Ms. Hilton Principal’s leadership council is setting up a BHS Remind, will advertise and help kids set it up next week. In an effort to be consistent district has drawn up a policy for lacrosse teams (boys and girls) renting out the stadium. He was interviewed during the half- time broadcast of the Jordan game.  Region Girls Tennis Champs  Region Girls Soccer Champs  Region Boys Golf Champs, 6th in state  Freshman/Sophomore Soccer Champs  Academic All-State for Keegan Anderson (golf)  Academic All-State for Felicia Catten (soccer)  Academic All-State for Hannah Stearman (volleyball)  Simi Fehoko- Army All-American Bowl Invitation  NFL Honor Roll  Our Drama students had a successful trip to the Cedar City Shakespearian Festival  We received a cash donation from the Byrne Family Foundation. $4000 has been dedicated to our performing arts programs to use for their collective benefit.  We appreciate Mayor Cullimore being our guest presenter at our Bagels at Brighton last week.  FBLA and DECA also did well in their recent competition at Herriman. The results are posted on our Facebook.  We had 11 students qualify for the All-State choir.  Debate continues to do well.</p>
