You can focus your paper on any idea of interest to you throughout the book, but keep your focus on an analysis of the characters. You can write the PIE paragraphs about different characters or different ideas; however, you must include a brief introduction OR conclusion paragraph that makes an analytical connection between your two PIE paragraphs. Remember, this is an analysis paper, not a summary paper.
