<p> FILE REF:</p><p>REQUIREMENTS FOR ELECTRONIC PORTABILITY FORM (EPF) SPECIFICATIONS </p><p>PURPOSE</p><p>The purpose of this document is to set out the requirements for the Electronic Portability Form (EPF) specifications and message payloads.</p><p>Specifications for the EPF are at Attachment 1.</p><p>BACKGROUND</p><p>The EPF is an outbound message sent by the ATO to a superannuation fund, a retirement savings account (RSA) provider or an intermediary acting on behalf of a fund or a RSA provider, to notify the entity of a member’s election to rollover their whole superannuation benefit balance to another superannuation fund or RSA provider. The ATO will implement and begin sending the EPF in this format on 13 April 2015.</p><p>Reference to Published Standard</p><p>Reference: Schedule 4b document Data and Payment Standards – Rollover Message Implementation Guide (MIG). The EPF is not in scope for this MIG and guidance is required for the message Specifications. The EPF will re-use the message content tables and context specifications used in the Initiate Rollover Request section of the MIG. </p><p>RECOMMENDED GUIDANCE</p><p>Funds should be able to receive EPF in this format by 13 April 2015. ATTACHMENT 1 – ELECTRONIC PORTABILITY FORM (EPF) MESSAGE SPECIFICATION</p><p>Explanatory notes: . The Standard applies to the Electronic Portability Form (EPF) sent by the ATO to notify a superannuation fund, RSA provider or intermediary of a member’s election to rollover their whole superannuation balance. . The EPF message will re-use the Message Content Tables for the Initiate Rollover Request message. . There is no automated business response message to an EPF. If a registered superannuation entity experiences errors with the message content returned in the XBRL message for EPF, the fund must contact the transferring member directly. If a registered superannuation entity experiences errors with the receipt or validation of the message they should contact the ATO at [email protected] 1.1 MESSAGE TRANSPORT LINKAGES</p><p>Linkage Attribute Instructions / Rules Rule Imp Msg code</p><p>1.
