<p> Maine Adult Education Association Annual Meeting – 2016/2017 – Wednesday, June 21, 4:30 pm Location University of Southern Maine, Hannaford Hall, Abromson Center Agenda</p><p>Call to Order by President Nancy Allen</p><p>Approval of minutes of 2016 Annual Meeting – printed below.</p><p>Treasurer’s Report</p><p>Annual Report from 2016-2017; Nancy Allen and Shirley Wright Report is posted at association.maineadulted.org</p><p>Report of the Nominating Committee; Results of Board election (Balloting closes at 2 p.m. on June 21, 2017)</p><p>Election of Officers</p><p>Remarks by 2017-18 President Lorraine Robida</p><p>Adjourn</p><p>Maine Adult Education Association Maine Adult Education Association Annual Meeting Minutes June 22, 2016</p><p>University of Maine, Farmington</p><p>The Annual Meeting of Maine Adult Education Association was called to order by MAEA President Razell Ward at 4:30 p.m. in The Landing at the Student Center at University of Maine, Farmington in Farmington, ME. </p><p>Attending: Razell Ward, Thelma Regan, Shirley Wright, Lisa Blanchette, Sue Colley, Leah Caverno, Amauri Boyd, Denise Goulet, Margie Genereux, Jeanne MacDonald, Barbara Curran, Christine Parks, Anne Beaulieu, Sue DeCesare, Melody Gonya, Martha Schools, Tom Nash, Rebecca Cross, Ray Therrien, Ryan Adams, Madelyn Litz, Madelaine Lane- Durgan, Robyn Raymond, Cherie Black, Debbie Richards, Jenny Rose, Arlene Jacques, Lynn Sheehan, Ed Latham, Cindy Williams, Bernadette Farrar, Vivian Champagne, Sue Knight, Laurie Giles, Zane Clement, Marcia Cook, Mike Burd.</p><p>Razell Ward announced that the Annual Report for MAEA is located online at association.maineadulted.org along with the Annual Meeting Minutes. MAEA is working on developing a listserv to use for the field to get information out in a timely manner. This should be ready to go in the fall. </p><p>Thelma Regan made a motion to approve the minutes of the 2015 Annual Meeting and Suzanne Nowinski seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. A Treasurer’s Report was not given. Treasurer Allen Lampert had a family emergency and had to leave the conference early. A full report will be posted online.</p><p>Thelma Regan made a motion to accept the Annual Report and Annie Sargent seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.</p><p>Executive Director Shirley Wright read the results of the MAEA election. Results are as follows: Bernadette Farrar 30 votes Shelli Pride 26 votes Louise Burns 25 votes Susan Knight 24 votes Vivian Champagne 17 votes Suzanne Nowinski 16 votes</p><p>The top three vote earners will serve two-year terms and the fourth top vote earner will serve a one- year term.</p><p>Razell Ward gave a brief history of Tip O’Neill. She had borrowed his gavel from Thelma Regan, whose family has it now. Razell symbolically used the gavel to remind incoming MAEA President Nancy Allen that we all work for the people. The gavel was returned to Thelma Regan.</p><p>Nancy Allen extended many thank you’s to MAEA board members and others. She will begin as MAEA President on July 1. A motion to adjourn was made by Ray Therrien and seconded by Jenny Rose. Motion passed unanimously.</p><p>Respectfully submitted, Shirley Wright, Executive Director</p>
