<p> News Release</p><p>Mid-range Doosan DX300LC crawler excavator tackles larger projects while holding down costs</p><p>WEST FARGO, N.D., November 2010 — The 30-metric-ton Doosan DX300LC crawler excavator has the horsepower to tackle larger projects but is designed to keep fuel and maintenance costs low.</p><p>The DX300LC is equipped with an 8-cylinder, 197-horsepower, turbocharged Doosan diesel engine that features a “common rail” high-pressure fuel injection system and four valves per cylinder for improved combustion efficiency and reduced particulate matter. Engine emissions are well below values required to meet Tier 3 standards.</p><p>An electronic power optimizing system (EPOS) maximizes machine productivity while minimizing fuel consumption. The EPOS connects the excavator’s hydraulic system and engine controls via a data transfer link. Advantages include the availability of a power mode and a normal operating mode for maximum efficiency under all conditions; electronic control of fuel consumption; automatic deceleration for even more fuel savings; and regulation and precise control of the hydraulic flow rate required by various machine components.</p><p>Long maintenance intervals and easy access to service points increase machine uptime and productivity. Examples include centralized grease inlets, wide side access doors for cleaning radiators and coolers, boom pivot bushings with greasing intervals of 250 hours, bucket pins with greasing intervals of 50 hours and a large-capacity engine air precleaner that removes more than 99 percent of airborne particles and extends filter cartridge service life. </p><p>The DX300LC has an operating weight of 66,580 pounds with standard boom, arm and 1.66- cubic-yard bucket. Bucket breakout force is 44,974 pounds while arm breakout force is 30,424 pounds. Maximum digging reach is 34 feet 7 inches at ground level and maximum digging depth is 24 feet 2 inches. Dump height is 23 feet 10 inches. </p><p>The spacious cab features an adjustable suspension seat with headrest and adjustable armrest. Joystick controls telescope up and down based on operator preference. A multi-function color LCD monitor panel displays a variety of machine information, including operation history, flow rate control and filter/oil information.</p><p>Easy-to-operate joystick controls make precise machine movements easy, while supplementary buttons are available for control of additional equipment such as grabs, crushers and grippers.
