<p> Career Opportunities</p><p>BNI Coal Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of ALLETE (NYSE-ALE), is seeking an Engineer and an Electrician to work at the Center Mine near Center, ND. </p><p>ENGINEER A Bachelor's degree in an accredited engineering curriculum and an E.I.T. certification is required with the ability and desire to become a P.E. A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience working in an open pit mine with dragline and truck and shovel operations is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. </p><p>Responsibilities: Support development of mine plans, budgets, economic evaluations, cost estimates, production forecasts, equipment selections, production schedules, maintenance performance indicators and execution of special projects.</p><p>Successful applicant must have advanced analytical, problem solving, and decision making abilities. The position requires the ability to make timely recommendations to the Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams. An understanding of the principles of hydraulics, soil mechanics, road design, embankment design, diversion design, and grading is preferred. Applicant must be able to work outdoors in all climatic conditions and possess strong mathematical and communication skills. Software packages utilized in this position include AutoCADD and Microsoft office. </p><p>MINE ELECTRICIAN Minimum requirements: Associates Degree in an electrical or electronics program; valid driver’s license and 3 years’ work experience. MSHA Green card desired.</p><p>Responsibilities: Able to perform maintenance & repair of electrical components & systems on mining equipment. Must have knowledge of direct current rotating equipment & associated digital control systems.
