<p>Introduction to Educational Technology Week 1</p><p>This week will serve as an introduction to the course and Blackboard Learning System, a course management system. Below, I have listed the tasks to be completed by Tuesday, January 29, midnight MST.</p><p>First View the following Breeze presentations:  Introduction to EdTech 571 - http://breeze.boisestate.edu/spring08intro/ (You may want to paste the address directly in your browser's address bar)  Brief introduction to BSU (for new students) - http://breeze.boisestate.edu/introbsu/</p><p> Week 1 - http://breeze.boisestate.edu/spring081/</p><p>Second Navigate through your Blackboard course site:</p><p> Access the student user manual (tools area) - the search feature with this manual makes it easy for your Blackboard questions to be answered. Explore to your heart's content. </p><p> Access the Course Documents area: read the syllabus, overview of the course, schedule, code of conduct and class expectations documents. </p><p> Access the Assignments area. Then, go to your Group Discussion Board and view your instructor’s technology timeline discussion in your group’s discussion board.</p><p>Now, create a thread titled, Your Last Name Introduction, and write a short introduction with a technology timeline.</p><p>Fourth</p><p>Create a homepage in the Blackboard Tools area. Please create a homepage in Blackboard with information about you (including where you live). Add your favorite links and please upload a digital photo of yourself. Ø Click the Tools button in Blackboard. Ø Click the Homepage link. Ø Fill in the blanks and upload a photo. If your photo needs to be resized you can easily do this with Microsoft Photo Editor in Windows or IPhoto on a Mac. </p><p>To view a homepage, go to the Communications area and click on the Roster link.</p><p>Finally You will receive 20 points if you complete all aspects of the assignment prior to the January 29 deadline. If for some reason, you are unable to complete the powerpoint component, please let me know - perhaps we can come up with an alternative. Also, please realize that I am out of the office this week with limited Internet access so I may not be able to respond to your emails until Sunday, January 27. At that time, we can work through any problems and an extension can be arranged. 1 That's it for this week - The second week's assignment will be posted on Monday, January 28. Be advised that I will always post assignments before Tuesday each week and require that assignments be completed by the following Tuesday, Midnight MST.</p><p>Remember to complete all aspects of the assignment by midnight (MST) Tuesday January 29, 2008.</p>
