<p> Equine Advisory Committee Meeting October 18, 2011 at 7:00 PM</p><p>Advisory Committee Members Present: Ruthe Riehle, Leah Leising, James Leising, Jim Little, Len Brainard, Luke Brainard, Annie Wedger, Thomas Livak, , Amy DeTine, Veronica Weber, Melinda Nichols, Terri Crisafulli, Steve Lord, and William Sprague </p><p>Advisory Committee Members Absent: Robert Pfohl, Judy Dalton</p><p>General Attendance: James Isaacson, Crystal Abers, Director of the Department of Economic Development, Planning, Holly Perry, Ainsley Smith, Becky Smith, Bob Riehle, Heather Oakes, Stacy Riley and Mike Riley.</p><p>1. Call to Order at 7:03 PM </p><p>2. Len Brainard made the motion to approve the August 9, 2011 Minutes, James Leising 2nd all in favor, carried.</p><p>3. Standing Committee Reports</p><p> Trails - A new Snowmobile trail from State Park to the Casino has been completed. It hopes to be a multi use trail.</p><p> Pine Hill, Little Bone has a new Trail head parking lot</p><p> Marketing/Tourism </p><p> All changes need to be given to Beck by Dec 15, 2011 for the new brochure </p><p> The Horse Resource will be holding a Fund raiser Tack Auction on November 13, 2011 at 1:00 PM.</p><p> Advocacy/ Horse Resource/Education</p><p> The Horse Resource have opened there own checking account and have received their $303 from the Horseman's association. </p><p> Reminded all members to look at the website for any suggestions, or improvements that they would like to see. Get any changes to Becky or Ruthe, ww2.cattco.org/equestrian</p><p>4. Old Business</p><p> James presented a sample Brochure regarding the Equine Advisory Committee and what we stand for. he is looking for any suggestions to add to the New Brochure. </p><p> A discussion regarding vacancies on the Committee and suggestions on who might be interested in filling them. Our guest Stacy Riley was asked if she would be interested in joining us. </p><p> The Equine Committee requested that a letter will be written to the County Legislators expressing support for the continued financial support for Cattaraugus County's 4-H program.</p><p>Steve Lord made the motion to have a letter written to support the continued support of the county's 4-H organization Len Brainard 2nd the motion, All in favor, carried</p><p> The Catt/Chaut Grant for $4,000 from Cattaraugus is still available. Ainsley Smith, Catt/Chaut's President, will provide an application and will mail it to Crystal. </p><p>Annie Widger made the motion to have a letter written to support the Pine Hill Project, Steve Lord 2nd the motion, All in Favor, carried.</p><p> Education program, Gowanda School, 4 week course 2 hours each on basic horse Care. Leah has contacted the School and they are very interested. The committee will continue to work on these classes</p><p> The Equine Affair will be held April 12 - 15th 2012. $1,120 for a larger booth. The Reservation dead line passed. Concern regarding the Equine Committee's money running out the committee questioned rather or not we should attend the Equine Affair.</p><p>5. New Business</p><p> Jimmy Little Voiced his concern that the Pat McGee Trail will be closed to the snowmobiles and eventually Horses.</p><p> Anyone who is not interested in being reappointed to the Equine Advisory Committee needs to notify James Isaacson by Nov 30, 2011.</p><p>6. Next meeting December 6, 2011, 7:00 PM in the Legislative Chambers (third floor) of the Cattaraugus County Center, 303 Court Street, Little Valley, NY.</p><p>9.
