Lesson 13 material (Setting Captives Free I): Page 1 of 2

Template Response:

Greetings !

Pornography is like the "bitter slavery" that the Israelites were under in Egypt. Compare this passage from Exodus 6 with what we studied in Day 13:

5 And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant. 6 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments: 7 And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. 8 And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an heritage: I am the LORD. Ex 6:5-8

These verses are a type of our own deliverance from sin's slavery, as Jesus promised in John 8:36, "So if the Son shall set you free, you will be free indeed!"

Hope for complete and permanent deliverance from sin is available, and it is found in Jesus Christ! Lesson 13 material (Setting Captives Free I): Page 2 of 2

Sample 1:

Dear Bro.
- Well done . . . as you wrote: I am truly feeling a sense of freedom. Though I am yet weak, each successful day gives me a realization of His power working in me. I also rejoice as I see the effect that freedom from sin is having in my life. I have been made to see more clearly and I am thankful for this.

As this lesson has taught us, the truth will set us free. Jesus declares Himself to be the truth - and in order to be free from habitual sin, we must have a relationship with Jesus Christ. The appropriate fire in your heart is starting to get lit,
. As the word says . . .

20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Matt 17:20

When we trust Jesus (faith) and we truly have Jesus Christ living in us - we will be free from pornography, masturbation and other sexual sins. There is no other way to freedom than through Jesus Christ. And this freedom opens a whole new world for us that we have been denying ourselves because of sin.

In Grace,
