<p> COLLEGE AND SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION December 14, 2011</p><p>ACT The next official test date is Saturday, February 11, and the registration deadline is Friday, January 13. Students may register online at www.act.org. Paper packets are also available in the guidance office.</p><p>Admission to College If a senior has not yet applied to college, they need to do so as soon as possible. The scholarship deadlines for most college scholarships are in mid January. Students must have at least applied for admission before they can apply for a college scholarship.</p><p>University of Kentucky The deadline to apply for scholarship to the University of Kentucky is Friday, January 13. Students may apply online at www.uky.edu/AcademicScholarships/. Applications are also available in the guidance office. The following scholarships will be awarded to eligible students, provided the student is admitted and has the qualifying test score and unweighted GPA on file with the Office of Undergraduate Admission by March 1, 2012. Minimum test score requirements are based on the composite or total score from one test date. Combined scores, also known as a superscore, from two or more tests will not be considered. No application is required for the following automatic scholarships: Flagship Scholarship automatically offered to incoming freshmen whose highest ACT score is 26-27 or SAT is 1170-1240, and who achieve a 3.30 unweighted high school GOA. The Flagship Scholarship provides $1,500 during the freshman year and is non- renewable. Provost Scholarship automatically offered to incoming freshmen whose minimum ACT score is 28 or SAT is 1250, and who achieve a 3.30 unweighted high school GPA. The Provost Scholarship provides $1,500 per year, for up to four years of undergraduate study. Kentucky Governor’s Scholars and/or Governor’s School for the Arts automatically offered to students that complete the GSP or GSA summer programs. A Presidential Scholarship will automatically be offered to GSP/GSA students with a 28+ ACT and 3.30 unweighted GPA. A Provost Scholarship will automatically be offered to all other GSP/GSA students. Competitive Scholarship Program UK also provides a competitive scholarship application for high valued scholarships, for students with a minimum test score of 31 ACT or 1360 SAT and minimum unweighted GPA of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale.</p><p>Western Kentucky University The deadline for the WKU scholarship application is January 15, 2012. Applications are available in the guidance office or online at www.wku.edu/finaid/faforms.htm, and click on “Scholarship Application for Beginning Freshmen.” Submit an application for undergraduate admission prior to the submission of the Scholarship Application. Scholarship Applications cannot be considered unless an application for admission is on file. Print clearly or type responses to Parts I, III, and IV. Take the completed application to the high school guidance counselor to complete Part II. The applicant’s guidance counselor must complete the appropriate section of the Scholarship Application. The application will not be considered without this section complete. A transcript and grading scale must be included with the scholarship application. Late scores and adjusted class rank cannot be accepted.</p>
