
<p>Jeffrey Simme, age 62, died at home in Lancaster, New York on May 22, 2017 after fighting a long battle with lymphoma. </p><p>Born March 27, 1955 in Lancaster, New York to Harold and Lorraine Simme, he attended Lancaster Schools and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1973.During his time there he served as his class president for several years, and was also a member of the football team. On November 8, 2008 he married Kathy Nagy-Duke, and they remained happily married until his passing.</p><p>Jeff lived in Lancaster his entire life and was a Town of Lancaster employee since 1980; he served as the Code Enforcement officer until retiring in January 2016.</p><p>Jeff was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, and he served as a committee member for the Lancaster Democratic Party for many years. Jeff also shared his years of experience in code enforcement as a committee member for the Niagara Frontier Builders Association.</p><p>Jeff could fix anything you put in his hands; he was a deft repairman, and he used these skills in his home and the homes of family and friends. Jeff had a ready laugh and a quick wit, and he had a gift for making others smile. Jeff was also an avid golfer, and hit a hole-in-one at Holiday Valley on July 28, 2011, which he was especially proud of. Above all, Jeff’s steadfast love and support for his family defined him; he will especially be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandfather. </p><p>Jeff is survived by his wife Kathy, children Jessica (Aimee), Kristine (Brian), Brian (Liz), siblings Larry (Jeanette) and Lori (Don), and nieces and nephews. Jeff was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Lorraine, and his son Jonathan. The family will receive relatives and friends at the WENDEL & LOECHER INC. FUNERAL HOME, 27 Aurora Street, Lancaster, Thursday from 3-8 PM with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Lancaster, Friday morning at 9:30. </p><p>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute.</p>
