<p> May 2010</p><p>Pender County Schools Duties and Responsibilities for High School AIG Coach</p><p>Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited institution  North Carolina teaching licensure in appropriate educational area  NC Licensure in AIG or Provisional AIG Licensure and evidence of coursework towards AIG Licensure  Exemplary organization, leadership, interpersonal, oral/written and communication skills Reports to school administrator(s)</p><p>Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Curriculum and Instructional Support  Serves as an advocate for AIG students  Works with AIG students to maintain folders and documentation for college resumes/scholarships and future goals  Works with Honors and Advanced Placement teachers to implement the AIG local plan in assigned schools  Supports the social and emotional needs of AIG students  Works with the guidance counselors to assure AIG students are receiving classes/placement according to their ADEP  Monitors grades of AIG students to see that they are working to potential and holds one-to-one conferencing when necessary  Nurtures high-achieving students  Attends regional roundtables/meetings and state conferences to maintain accurate information/state updates on high school course offerings and AIG programs throughout the state  Coordinates all efforts of Governors School</p><p>2. Communication and Collaboration  Collaborates with principals, other administrative staff and the supervisor of the AIG program  Disseminates information to teachers regarding licensure and renewal opportunities  Presents information regarding the AIG program to staff, parents/guardians, students, and other stakeholders as needed  Consults with administrators, other AIG Coaches, and the supervisor of the AIG Program on issues related to gifted students and the AIG program  Disseminates information to staff, parents, and stakeholders about AIG program standards  Assist students and parents/guardians on the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and college applications May 2010</p><p>3. Program Implementation  Completes all paperwork for AIG students including screening, referral, identification, exit from program, and annual review of services  Test students referred for gifted identification  Maintains AIG data for NCWise  Schedules and conducts parent/guardian meetings to interpret test results and program guidelines in reference to the student’s DEP and ADEP  Coordinators AIG screening and identification in assigned schools  Represents the AIG program on committees and at meetings  Ensures that all identified students are in the appropriate classes, and that students in accelerated classes meet the proper criteria  Completes other duties and responsibilities as assigned by administrators</p>
