<p>Town Of Danvers Board of Selectman Meeting Minutes May 5, 2016</p><p>The reorganizational meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at 6:30 P.M., in the Daniel J. Toomey Hearing Room, Town Hall, Danvers.</p><p>Present: Diane M. Langlais, Chairman; Daniel C. Bennett; William H. Clark, Jr.; Gardner S. Trask, III; David A. Mills</p><p>The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. ~ The Clerk opened the meeting and assumed the Chair announcing that he would accept nominations for Chairman for 2016/2017. A motion was made by Selectman Mills nominating Selectman Langlais; Selectman Trask seconded this nomination. On a motion made by Selectman Bennett and seconded by Selectman Trask the Board voted unanimously to close nominations. On a motion made by Selectman Mills and seconded by Selectman Trask the Board voted unanimously to appoint Selectman Langlais as Chairman. ~ On a motion made by Selectman Trask and seconded by Selectman Clark the Board voted unanimously to approve the minutes of April 19, 2016 & April 20, 2016.</p><p>~ The Board was in receipt of gifts in the amount of $175 from the Danvers Garden Club for Arbor Day in accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 44, §53A. On a motion by Selectman Trask and seconded by Selectman Clark, the Board voted 5-0 to accept the gift. ~ A public hearing was held on the recommendation of the Traffic Advisory Committee to revise the Traffic Rules & Orders of the Town of Danvers. Article V Parking Section 8A- No Parking During Designated Hours: No Parking 9:00PM-6:00AM Trailers, Commercial, Recreational and Oversized Vehicles. In addition, while reviewing the Hobart Street Parking lot relative to commercial vehicle restrictions, DTAC discussed a recommendation to provide signage in the area closest to Charter Street as Church Parking Only Sunday 8:00AM- 12:00PM. It is the consensus of DTAC that this provision could assist the Church and their members with needed parking in the lot for Sunday worship consisting of 19 spaces that includes 4 handicapped spaces. On a motion by Selectman Clark and seconded by Selectman Bennett, the Board voted 5-0 to approved these amendments. ~</p><p>Correspondence, Selectmen “New Business,” and previous “New Public business” updates were provided, as follows: Train Depot Thanks to Dan Bennett Danvers Cares, support awareness of opiate and other substance use Riverside School Mural New Agenda format</p><p>The Town Manager provided an update to the Board on various items of interest, as follows: Annual Town Meeting preparation Transfer Station changes Promotions, Police/ Fire Smith School Building Committee</p><p>1 Town Of Danvers Board of Selectman Meeting Minutes May 5, 2016 Dog Park Water Department hydrant flushing/ valve checking New Water/Sewer facility update Thorpe School Library DHS Field Tour Route 62/ 128 interchange</p><p>On a motion by Selectman Trask and seconded by Selectman Clark the Board voted 5-0 to approve the following license renewals:</p><p>Consent Calendar Operation Troop Support plant sale in front of Town Hall, Saturday, May 7, 9 A.M-1 P.M. Common Victualler’s M&N Donuts, Inc., d/b/a Dunkin Donuts, 79 Andover Street</p><p>Banner Seasons of Danvers, Alzheimer Association annual memory walk over High Street, August 22-28</p><p>The Selectmen closing comments were offered, as follows:</p><p> Selectmen Trask will be absent from Memorial Day Parade & 1st meeting in June Condolences: Bob Linden, Tom Leonard Town Election wrap-up/ signage Dog Park Walk for Hunger Earth Day/ Zero Waste Remember Veterans, as well as all active servicemen and women. </p><p>~ The meeting was adjourned at 7:25 P.M. </p><p>Attest: Joseph L.
