We support rebuilding of our Red Snapper fishery. But, since 2007 when the Re-Enactment of the Magnuson-Stevens Act (MSRA) was implemented, we have seen bag limits and seasons reduced due to the restrictive language in this Bill. Efforts are being made on behalf of the recreational anglers to implement flexibility in the law which will allow the rebuilding process to continue and keep you fishing. Rebuilding a fishery needs to happen over a longer period of time so that the industry and you can keep a more reasonable catch and we can provide a longer season for you.
