<p> FORT LEWIS COLLEGE FACULTY RESOLUTION </p><p>A RESOLUTION OF FORT LEWIS COLLEGE SUPPORTING OUR COLLEAGUE AND FRIEND DR. YOHANNES WOLDEMARIAM</p><p>WHEREAS, Fort Lewis College is committed to developing capacities for living together in a democracy, the hallmark of which is individual, social, and cultural diversity, and</p><p>WHEREAS, the College fosters a climate and condition of openness in which students, faculty, and staff engage with respect, tolerance and equity, and</p><p>WHEREAS, a Fort Lewis College professor has apparently been targeted with hatred for ethnic reasons, including receipt of hate mail and arson, and</p><p>WHEREAS, we must mobilize against racism, ethnic intimidation and hate, and</p><p>WHEREAS, there has been a tremendous expression of solidarity with Dr. Woldemariam by the faculty and staff of Fort Lewis College and the Durango community,</p><p>NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Faculty Senate of Fort Lewis College:</p><p>The Faculty Senate of Fort Lewis College condemns these acts of cowardice and hatred, and will not tolerate ethnic intimidation and hate in our midst. </p><p>Approved and adopted this 8th day of October, 2008.</p><p>Fort Lewis College</p><p>______Dr. Byron Dare, President, FLC Faculty Senate</p>
