<p> 17th Capitular District Association Royal Arch Masons of Ohio</p><p>17th District Bylaws – Adopted 6/18/08</p><p>I. The name of the association is “The 17th Capitular District Association of the Grand Chapter of R.A. M. of Ohio II. It shall be the purpose of the Association to promote a closer Fraternal bond between the Chapters of 17th Capitular District and their Companions, and to further the objectives of the Capitular Rite. III. This Association shall: A. Be governed by an Executive Board consisting of a President, a 1st Vice-President, a 2nd Vice-President, a Chaplain, a Secretary, and a Treasurer. They shall be elected and installed at the Annual Meeting of the 17th Capitular District for a term of one year. The will meet regularly to work with the DDGHP and District Education Officer to facilitate the Grand King School, the Royal Arch School, the School of Instruction, the Grand High Priest Reception, the Annual planning meeting, the District meetings, and the Religious Reaffirmation services. Other responsibilities will be under the advice of the DDGHP and DEO. B. Be facilitated by a Board Trustees consisting of three past presidents of the 17th Capitular District each serving a three year term. The newest member shall be the Junior Past President. His three-year term will commence upon the installation of his immediate successor. They will advise and assist the Executive Committee. C. Have records of the meetings, elections, finances (in conjunction with the Treasurer), and communications maintained by the Secretary. D. Have financial records maintained by the Treasurer. These include the District funds and Grand High Priests fund. He shall maintain the accounts and the payment of all approved bills. E. Have four (4) meetings each Capitular year. They are called by the President in conjunction with the advice of the DDGHP and DEO. Special meetings may be called by the President. II. No business of the Executive Board may be decided unless there shall be present at least three (3) members. No business of the Association may decided unless there be present at least ten (10) Companions representing a majority of the Chapters of the District, and at least two (2) officers of the Executive Board. III. Funding of the expenses of the Association will come from the donations of each Chapter. The amount due will be determined and set each year by the Executive Board. Expenditures will be determined in accordance with Article IV. IV. Amendments to these Bylaws must be presented in writing to the Chapters and also to the Companions present at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Association. They must be read and laid over until the next regularly scheduled meeting, and will require a two- thirds (2/3) vote of approval by those Companions present. V. Standing Resolution # 1 - Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)</p><p>1. The progression of the elected officers will be from 2nd VP to 1st VP to Pres. Once elected to 2nd VP, the commitment will be for a 3 year term. 2. The Sec., Treas., and Chaplain Companions may be re-elected annually, and are not considered in the progression of the officers. 3. The officers are expected to attend the District Installations, Inspections, District Meetings, and education sessions. These include the “King School.” 4. The officers are expected to assist the Chapters and their Officers and Companions in the fulfillment of their duties to their respective Chapters, degree work, and the general support of the Rite. 5. There will be a fund of the District from the Chapters’ dues and the donations of the Companions to support the expenses of the Association as well as the presence of the Chapter hospitality room at Grand Chapter. The Secretary and Treasurer will maintain the funds and the records according to the Bylaws. 6. There will be a fund of the District from the donations of the Companions and others to support the Grand High Priest from the District. The Secretary and Treasurer will maintain the funds and the records according to the Bylaws. 7. There will be an outdoor degree for the Mark Master done with the coordinated efforts of the Association. 8. The York Rite Story will be disseminated in conjunction with the other York Rite bodies. 9. A York Rite Festival will be coordinated with the other York Rite bodies. </p>
