LANDRY PARISH 4-H ACHIEVEMENT DAYThe 2012 St. Landry Parish 4-H Achievement Day was held onSaturday, April 21st at Opelousas High School. The event was presided over by Lisa Benoit, Associate Extension Agent (4-H) and Lou AnnMckeivier, Assistant Extension Agent (4-H). 4-H club representatives exhibited banners in a procession as a salute to participants at the opening of the program. In recognition of outstanding contribution to 4-H club work through leadership, citizenship, community service and project work, two Scott Truck & Tractor Scholarships were presented to Sarah Morrow, MACA and James Prather, Member at Large.Lou Ann Mckeivier presented plaques for outstanding 4-H Records. The Key ClubAward was presented to Mallory Wyble, Beau Chene High. The following 4-H Seniors were presented with the 4-H Honor Cord: Cody Beard, Beau Chene High; Mckenzie Brown,Opelousas High; Sarah Morrow, MACA; James Prather, Member at Large and Jacob Stelly,Beau Chene High.Four-H'ers competed throughout the day for various awards, ribbons, certificates and a chance to represent St. Landry 4-H at the statewide competition in Baton Rouge at LSU inJune.
