WHO: ACAP Is Open to Seattle-Area Minority Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors on a First-Come

<p> ACAP FACT SHEET</p><p>WHAT: The Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP) helps minority students learn about opportunities within the accounting and business professions. Since its inception in 1982, ACAP has helped more than 1065 minority students learn why college is worth it. Students finishing the course also have a chance to intern at one of the sponsoring corporations, including SAFECO, Boeing, Weyerhaeuser and Nordstrom as well as the Major Accounting Firms. The program features guest lecturers from industry, universities and government.</p><p>WHO: ACAP is open to Seattle-area minority sophomores, juniors and seniors on a first-come basis.</p><p>WHY: There are three reasons why students should enroll in this program. First, they are introduced to minority role models who teach them about business opportunities in “the real world.” Second, they find the encouragement they need to continue their education in business at a college or university. Finally, they gain valuable contacts and have the opportunity to intern in sponsoring companies.</p><p>WHERE: The University of Washington campus.
