<p> MEDIA RELEASE Contact: Brad Rugg, Superintendent, 612-624-8443 4-H GOAT SHOWMANSHIP CONTEST St. Paul, MN 8/25/2013 – 317 young people were honored at this year’s Minnesota 4-H Goat Show for their showmanship ability. There were a total of 317 exhibitors at this year’s show and many of them participated in the Breeding and Market Goat Showmanship Contest held on 8/23/2013 at the Minnesota State Fair. The showmanship competition is based on the exhibitor’s knowledge of goat production, grooming skills and handling techniques. Because of a large number of participants, some of the age groups were split into two classes. The champion and reserve winners in each are listed below. The judges evaluating the dairy goat showmanship competition were Dan Laney and Amy Chance.
