VP Media Relations and Public Affairs Sommer Green, University Relations</p><p>The meeting was called to order at 3L30 p.m.</p><p>Jim Ferrer opened the meeting by outlining the next steps for the committee once unit presentations are complete. The presentations are designed to give colleges the opportunity to review indirect costs, provide feedback on the nature of services being provided and provide input on support unit allocations. This year that feedback could be especially important as there may be extra resources available to fund new initiatives and the committee can help by prioritizing issues that could be funded and by providing comments on support unit services and the value perceived from those services.</p><p>Presentation by University Relations</p><p>Jane Adams, Vice President of University Relations, along with Dan Williams, Asst. VP Marketing and Janine Sikes, Asst. VP Media Relations and Public Affairs, presented an overview of the services provided to the University of Florida by the department. Those services include government relations, marketing, public relations and creative services, and community relations. The presentation focused on the products delivered by a small staff with a small budget, with most of that budget being devoted to personnel critical to fulfilling its mission.
