<p>Becoming a Rater</p><p>1. First you must be RESNET certified to join the ENERGY STAR program as a rater</p><p>2. You then would go to www.energystar.gov/join and click on “Residential New Contruction Industry”, and then like on “Home Energy Rater”. Fill out and submit the online form. The turnaround time for acceptance is usually 2 to 3 days.</p><p>3. Once approved, the rater is accepted to the ENERGY STAR program on a provisional basis. They then have 60 days to complete the ENERY STAR home rater training, which is also done through RESNET. This training can be found via: Home > Partner Resources > For New Home Industry Professionals > ENERGY STAR for Homes Version 2.5 and 3 Guidelines > Training Requirements and Resources</p><p> a. http://www.resnet.us/energystar</p><p>4. Once the training is completed, you will be certified as an ENERGY STAR rater.
