<p>Connective Tissue Quiz – Answers</p><p>We had a number of discussions over a particular question which was pulled from a study book, and quite frankly I don’t like it. Here are answers and explanations</p><p>Muscle – NOT a connective tissue</p><p>Fat question is the problem and I discuss this at the end</p><p>Elastic cartilage is ALWAYS associated with a perichondrium</p><p>Reticular fibers are shown</p><p>Chondrogenic layer – Note capsules and cell nests, so we have cartilage and not bone</p><p>Now the fat question:- White fat is not less dense than brown fat. That’s an answer. White fat does and can act as an energy source. It’s primary function is padding and protection, but it can act as an energy source. Our syllabus states that white fat comes from undifferentiated mesenchymal cells, so that’s an answer too</p>
