<p> NCLA Board Report</p><p>For the</p><p>North Carolina Paraprofessional Association</p><p>January 2012</p><p>The executive board for the NCLPA met in November to welcome new members and say goodbye to old. Information, files and well wishes were passed to incoming Board.</p><p>Current Board:</p><p>Chair- Jackie Cornette- Western Watauga Branch Library Past Chair- Jackie Frye-Harnett County Public Library Chair Elect- Harry Frank-East Carolina University Secretary- Gloria Nelson Treasurer- Linda Haynes- Mary Duncan Public Library Region 1 director- Gloria Nelson-Cumberland County Public library Region 2 director- OPEN Region 3 director- La-Nita Williams-High Point University Region 4 director- Evelyn Johnson-Watauga County Public Library Standing Committee Chairs:</p><p>Archives-Wendy Barber - Wilkes County Public Library Conference- Harry Frank – East Carolina University Communications- Cathy Wright- May Memorial Library Webmaster-Angela Davis- Pitt Community College Scholarship-Rita Van Duinen- Central Carolina Community College Program- Evelyn Johnson –Watauga County Library Nominations-open Membership-open</p><p>Board reviewed NCLA Conference programs and Business Luncheon- Comparison of 2009 & 2011 – conferences- discussed benefits of cosponsors for programming- (Friends of the Library)- less programming in 2011- more attendance. </p><p>Business Luncheon – Mountain Music song & Dance Ereaders & You Bean Can Guitar Workshop</p><p>NCLPA will continue to have 4 one-day workshops in 2012; our goal is to have one in each region. The board is also discussing the possibility of holding our May meeting at ECU and NCLPA to host a preconference in association with the Joyner Library Paraprofessional Conference?
