<p>Siemens Energy Wind Power Service Fact Sheet: Orlando Wind Service Training Center</p><p>In February 2013, Siemens announced plans to locate a new, state-of-the-art wind service training center in Orlando, Florida. The center provides highly advanced technical and safety training for installation and service technicians working at wind energy projects located throughout the Americas. • 40,000 square-foot facility • Two full-size Siemens nacelles (turbine generator), weighing over 100 tons each, located inside the training center • Three 30-foot high climbing towers, ladder structures, electrical and hydraulic modules, and maintenance crane to make training, safety and rescue simulations possible under realistic conditions • One of four Siemens wind service training facilities in the world, along with Bremen, Germany; Brande, Denmark; and Newcastle, United Kingdom – all accredited by Global Wind Organisation (GWO) for safety training • Built according to the U.S. LEED gold building standards • $7 million investment by Siemens • Creating 50 new jobs in support of the renewable energy industry</p><p> http://www.energy.siemens.com/hq/en/services/power- generation/product/wind-power-services/ • Expected to host over 2,400 trainees per year from the U.S. and the Americas Business Highlights:</p><p>• In its fiscal year 2012, Siemens provided approximately 2,400 hours of training to nearly 14,000 internal and external participants worldwide. • In the past two years, Siemens’ global wind service business has grown from approximately 1,600 employees to well over 2,700 today and those numbers are expected to grow as more and more regions increase their commitment to building renewable energy resources to support the growing demand for clean energy around the globe. .
