<p>CABINET FOR HEALTH AND FAMILY SERVICES (CHFS) Office of Administrative & Technology Services (OATS) Standards:</p><p>Category: 1000 Hardware Platform Domain</p><p>1330 Servers – Workgroup Servers (formerly CHFS Standards #010.006)</p><p>Definition: The following are examples of services a server performs in a network. </p><p>1. File, Print and DHCP Server - A server on the network that contains unstructured user data, print services, and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) services allowing computers to connect to the network. 2. Application\Web\Reporting Server - A server on the network that hosts applications (client – server or web based). Web based applications include Reporting Services. Must be virtualized following CHFS Virtualization Standard. 3. Database Server - A server on the network that contains structured data in an indexed relational format. Must be virtualized following CHFS Virtualization Standard, except for Production and UAT servers. 4. Management Server - A server on the network that performs enterprise level management functions such as Domain Controller, Anti-Virus, Application Distribution, etc.</p><p>Approved Standard(s): Minimum Specifications  Fastest Available Intel® Server Processor x2 (maximum number of cores available)  4 GB RAM (Largest\fastest chip available to minimize slots and provide ability to upgrade in future)  Dual Channel Integrated RAID 5 Controller (Requires minimum of 3 matching drives) (RAID 0 or 1 can be utilized, but RAID 5 must be purchased)  Hard Drive - Ultra3 SCSI, 10,000 rpm, 73gb minimum, x3  High Speed IDE DVD Drive  Dual integrated Network Interface Cards (NICs)  No Operating System  Redundant hot-pluggable fans  Redundant power supplies  Minimum warranty of 4 years</p><p>All server configurations are contingent upon OATS Division of Infrastructure and User Support (DIUS) approval. </p><p>Approved Product(s): Dell Modular Server (Blade)</p><p>Exceptions: Any exceptions to this standard must follow the procedures established in CHFS IT Policy #070.203.
