The order of the first transaction made with this card (at any amount) will be the decisive factor. </p><p>Every three thousandth customer will win an exciting weekend for two in London including the air tickets, accommodation, food, and a personal guide, all worth CZK 100,000. </p><p>And every thousandth new user of the Citi Shell MasterCard will receive an “experience Superb weekend” for two worth at least CZK 39,000. It will include accommodation in a selected hotel, food, rich program, a Skoda Superb car with a driver, and other various gifts. In addition, this credit card holder will be able to choose whether the weekend should be full of sports, wellness activities, or sightseeing.</p><p>Czech drivers pay CZK 1,588 per month for fuel</p><p>As the survey carried out by the Factum Invenio agency for Citibank and Shell shows, Czech drivers spend an average of CZK 1,588 on fuel per month, which is CZK 136 (9 %) more than two years ago. This increase has been caused mainly by the raised prices of fuel, especially diesel.</p><p>“The co-brand credit card Shell MasterCard from Citibank saves its holder’s money. The more the client uses it to pay at Shell as well as at other businesses, the greater the discount the client receives on fuel at the Shell gas filling stations," says the Marketing Manager of Citi Credit Cards, Renata Němcová - Pixová.</p><p>Shell MasterCard from Citibank saves money</p><p>“The average fuel cost of a Czech driver is CZK 1,588 and if the customer uses their Shell MasterCard from Citibank to pay for gas, they will save at least 3%, which equals CZK 48. Moreover, if the holder uses this card on a regular basis and will pay for instance another CZK 15,000 per month, they will obtain another bonus in the amount of 1% from the spent sum. In this concrete case the total saving thus is CZK 198, which is more than 12% of the average monthly payment on fuel," explains Milan Řezníček, Citi credit card Product Manager. Furthermore, each single holder of Shell MasterCard from Citibank who is a member of the SMART loyalty program from Shell will earn double amount of SMART points for every litre of any Shell fuel they pay for with this card. </p><p>"Members of the SMART loyalty program who at the same time hold Shell MasterCard from Citibank could save – starting on September 1 – not only 3% on the Shell fuel price but could also, by exchanging their SMART points for discount on fuel, buy each litre for two Koruna less at Shell," says Petr Šindler, spokesperson of Shell Czech Republic. </p><p>The above mentioned PR campaign will be accompanied by a communication campaign, which includes in-store POS and POP materials at the Shell gas filling stations, promotion at selected Shell gas filling stations and in selected hypermarkets, outdoor, print, radio ads, and emailing. </p><p>MasterCard has awarded the parameters of the Shell MasterCard from Citibank with the prestigious title the Best Co-branded Card 2006.</p><p>“Establishing partnerships between two powerful brands for the purpose of issuing credit cards, in this case Shell and Citibank, is definitely a trend that allows us new opportunities how to offer our customers another added value with the Citi credit card.
