In preparation, you have been asked to outline and describe the functions of tools and the selection of work-holding devices.</p><p>Task 1 What are the right tools and work holding devices? Produce a written report to show your understanding of the function, advantages and effectiveness of:  two simple and two more complex tools for drilling  one simple and two more complex work-holding devices for drilling. Your report should also reference different tooling materials. Include annotated photographs/diagrams to enhance your report.</p><p>Next, do the same for one of the following machining techniques:  turning  milling.</p><p>Evidence Written report with annotated photographs/diagrams you must produce for this task</p><p>Criteria covered by this task: Criterion To achieve the criteria you must show that you are able to: Unit reference</p><p>Describe the functions of simple and complex tools used for 7 2A.P1 drilling and turning or milling.</p><p>Explain why particular tools and work-holding devices are useful 7 2A.M1 for different drilling and turning or milling tasks.</p><p>Evaluate the effectiveness of tools and work-holding devices for 7 2A.D1 different drilling and turning or milling tasks.</p><p>1 © Pearson 2014 Task 2 Selecting and using tools and work holding devices Ask a colleague to take photographs of you selecting (from a range) and accurately using:  at least two simple and two more complex tools for drilling  at least two simple and two more complex tools for turning or milling  at least one simple and two more complex work-holding devices for drilling  at least one simple and two more complex work-holding devices for turning or milling.
