Although the committee voted not to send the ‘trigger warning’ about the preferred name option from our committee, we spent a significant amount of time drafting language that we would support coming from Matthew or Mary Kay. 2. The committee voted to change our meeting time to 2nd Wednesdays 3-4:30pm; this change is reflected in our doodle-poll. Discussion: 3. (#2) Visibly include issues of sexual orientation and gender identity/expression in our framework for diversity a.i.2. Create a standing action committee to address LGBT issues (institutionalize) a.i.3. Have a clear and visible procedure for reporting LGBT bias and hate crimes a.i.4. Have a bias incident team with methods for supporting the affected person(s) that also includes an educational function to prevent future incidences from occurring. a.i.5. Gender-neutral or Single-Occupancy Restrooms a.i.6. LGBT Resource Center a.ii. Programs: Nick, Linda a.ii.1. Develop trans-inclusive programs and services a.ii.2. Hold events/activities to increase awareness of LGBT experiences and concerns a.ii.3. Include LGBT issues in new student orientation programming a.ii.4. Have social events specifically for LGBT students and underrepresented/multicultural LGBT students a.iii.6. Do outreach and education for prevention of bias a.iii.7. District Police should do outreach to LGBT and meet with LGBT student leaders a.iii.8. Train officers on sexual orientation, gender identity/expression issues, and anti- trans violence</p>
