Just this past year, for instance, the agencies funded by CCHD have empowered 234 people to find jobs and receive job advancement skills through cooperative businesses, job placement and employment readiness trainings. They have trained 380 youth through leadership and healthy life skills classes. And, they have improved low-income neighborhoods by eradicating vacant properties, increasing public services, and reducing crime. These efforts are taking place in Cincinnati, Dayton, Hamilton, Springfield, St. Marys, Brown County and elsewhere across the Archdiocese. As Archbishop Dennis Schnurr recognizes, “Through CCHD, we show mercy, not by providing a handout, but by providing a life-changing hand up.” Please prayerfully and generously consider how you will give on Collection Weekend, Nov. 19-20.
