<p> SUCCESS 100 – Success Strategies</p><p>Benchmark Assignment</p><p>Student Planner</p><p>Student Learning Outcomes The purpose of this assignment is to allow you to demonstrate mastery of the following course level outcomes: </p><p> Demonstrate communication, time management, critical thinking, study skills, and literacy skills that support academic and professional success</p><p> Recognize the benefits of self-motivation, self-management, and personal responsibility on career planning and development</p><p> Explain the relationship between physical health, psychological well-being, and healthy lifestyles to personal growth and development</p><p>Assignment Description The Student Planner assignment is intended to assist you with short- and long-term planning, time management, self-management, and transferable skills applicable to personal and professional lifetime goals. In the process, you will learn how to use your Planner, which is a tool that you can use in multiple ways at school, on the job, and at home.</p><p> There are a total of ten weekly mini-assignments within the larger assignment. Each mini-assignment requires you to use your Planner and to write a reflection paragraph. </p><p> The weekly assignments are as follows:</p><p> o WEEK 1 - This week's assignment consists of monitoring and recording class times, class prep times, study times, and commute times. You should list all of the times you are in the classroom, and then note how much time you spend on the other activities listed. In addition, you will begin recording weekly academic commitments such as due dates for school projects, tests, presentations, and papers. You should record the times you pay yourself a compliment or give yourself a positive evaluation during the week. Be sure to note the details.</p><p>Reflection Paragraph - Write a one- paragraph reflection on how this assignment might help you strengthen your self-confidence and motivate you to acquire new skills and achieve success in your studies and throughout your professional career.</p><p> o WEEK 3 - This week’s assignment asks you to identify times when you procrastinated on an activity during the week. Be sure to note the details.</p><p>Reflection Paragraph - Write a one-paragraph reflection how this assignment might help you to monitor your priorities, evaluate your academic and career goals, and improve personal performance.</p><p> o WEEK 4 - This week’s Planner assignment augments the Personal Portfolio activity #4. You will identify and schedule appointments with three potential people you would interview during the quarter about their fields/professions.</p><p>Reflection Paragraph - Write a one-paragraph reflection on how this activity might assist you in effectively managing and prioritizing your time, as well as how it could help you achieve short- and long-term goals.</p><p> o WEEK 5 - This week’s Planner assignment addresses vocabulary building. Record five new words you have learned during the week in the SUCCESS 100 class. Include the definition and etymology of each.</p><p>Reflection Paragraph - Write a one-paragraph reflection on how you found out the definitions and etymologies. Where did you go for this information? What techniques might you use to deal with distractions and become a stronger and more active listener?</p><p> o WEEK 7 - This week’s Planner assignment is specific to test-taking anxiety. Indicate two times when you employed stress-reducing strategies during the week. Be sure to provide details.</p><p>Reflection Paragraph - Write a one-paragraph reflection on how employing stress-reducing strategies might help you perform better in school and on the job.</p><p> o WEEK 8 - This week’s Planner assignment should reflect on the amount of time spent on the Internet for school related activities and non-school related activities. How much time do you spend on each?</p><p>Reflection Paragraph - Write a one-paragraph reflection on how a time-log helps you analyze and prioritize the amount of time you spend on important versus non-important activities.
