<p>Oracle Bringing Student Cloud to Education and Research Cloud</p><p>By Leila Meyer  03/11/14</p><p>Oracle has announced Oracle Student Cloud, a new cloud-based student information system designed to help higher education institutions support configurable standard business processes.</p><p>The company plans to release the first phase of Oracle Student Cloud in the 2015 calendar year, and that phase will support enrollment, payment and assessment. The company did not reveal its roadmap for subsequent phases of the product.</p><p>Key features of Oracle Student Cloud include:</p><p> Flexible core structures;</p><p> Extensible architecture;</p><p> Ability to manage both traditional and nontraditional educational offerings; and</p><p> Dynamic user interface.</p><p>Oracle Student Cloud will be part of the Oracle Education and Research Cloud.</p><p>The company also announced plans to add new higher education functionality to Oracle Human Capital Management and Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning Cloud. The new functionality will be available in the 2014 and 2015 calendar years and will integrate with Oracle Student Cloud.</p><p>The new higher education functionality in Oracle HCM and Oracle ERP Cloud will include mobile, social and analytics features, as well as support for position control, multiple appointments, collective bargaining agreements, grants management, budgetary control and encumbrance accounting.</p><p>According to Oracle, the new higher education offerings will give colleges and universities the option to run student and ERP systems either on-premises or in the cloud.</p><p>In related Oracle news, the company announced a new release of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, planned for the 2015 calendar year.
