<p>Lesson Plans for Introduction to Business October 10, 2011 to October 14, 2011 Mr. Bob Merrilees Chapter 10-Business in a Global Economy</p><p>Monday –NO SCHOOL </p><p>Tuesday (B day) NO CLASS</p><p>Wednesday (C day) Topic: Global Economy Objectives:  Develop an understanding of economic conditions in foreign countries Activities:  Work in LAB on specific country economic project Homework:  Research cyborlink.com web site on business etiquette in your country from your project and present as a current event discussion</p><p>Thursday (D day) Topic: Global Economy Objectives:  Explain why nations need to trade with each other Activities:  Review business etiquette in various foreign countries  Activity on Made in America on page 147 and current event article  Review vocabulary words for chapter 10  Review Forbes Magazine of top 2000 companies  Hand out article on Debate-For or against tariffs. Select teams for debate Homework:  Find research on U.S. policy on tariffs with foreign countries. What is the specific tariff % and products are involved. This is to be done on a team basis Friday (A day) Topic: Global Economy Objectives:  Explain why nations need to trade with each other  Describe how currency exchange works Activities:  Review research on U.S. tariff policy (team project)  Team debate on benefits of protectionism vs. free trade  Introduce the math behind currency fluctuations  Handout on impact of rising or declining dollar Homework:  Continue work on Country economic project</p>
