<p>EZEKIEL PART 2 LESSON 1 REPENTANCE Leads to LIFE David Arthur</p><p>Purpose of the Prophets Amos 3:7: Reveal God’s plans…..Call people back to Himself (GRACE)</p><p>Ezekiel 33: The Watchman….LISTEN & WARN: (Jer 6:17, Hab 2:1, Ezk 3) God’s RADAR system to warn the city</p><p>REPENT & LIVE! Ezk 18:23</p><p>SHOOV: Return, STOP running toward the edge of the cliff & LIVE! God takes NO PLEASURE in the death of the wicked.</p><p>Jer 18: The POTTER determines the purpose of the clay, pot Judgment: God can STOP His planned Judgment IF they turn back from their evil ways.</p><p>Acts 3:17-21 Repent & Return, so that...your sins may be wiped away! Enjoy times of refreshing God may send Jesus (again): Restoration of all things spoken by the prophets</p><p>2 Peter 3:1-2, 9-12 The Lord is not slow concerning His promise…but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance…But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burn up. Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat!</p><p>Ezk 33 PRACTICE Justice & Righteousness Jam 1:22 Be DOERS of the Word, not hearers only Ps 127 Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman keeps awake in vain.</p><p>Caution: Don’t be a self-appointed watchman in everyone’s life (God will open that opportunity in His timing)</p><p>Ezekiel 34: The Shepherd Not deal severely, but FOR the people! God Himself will be your shepherd (Ps 23) My servant David, will be prince among them (2 Sam 7: Davidic Covenant) Jesus, David’s descendant, is the Good Shepherd (John 10)</p><p>Revelation 7:17— for the Lamb, in the center of the throne, will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life (repentance!) and God will wipe every tear from their eyes. Caution for students of Ezekiel, Part 2: When you finish this course, if all you have is a CHART, correctly understanding Gog & Magog, then we (at Precept) have failed you. Instead, be ATTENTIVE to God’s call on your life as a WATCHMAN….but remember to be dependent upon God as you carry out your job. God’s Role: HE is the One who guards the city!</p>
