<p> Mahnomen Area Sportsman Club Scholarship</p><p>Purpose:</p><p> The Mahnomen Area Sportsman Club will be presenting 2 (two) $400.00 (four hundred) scholarships to be used to further educational opportunities for students who have shown an interest in wildlife habitat and environmental preservation.</p><p>Eligibility:</p><p> Any high school senior of Waubun Independent School District 435 considered to be in good standing. A determination of good standing will be based upon compliance with the school’s attendance policy and having completed the necessary course requirements.</p><p>Application:</p><p>1. Applications will be available through the high school counselor and should be turned into the high school office.</p><p>2. Applications should be received no later then May 1, ______(Grad Year)</p><p>3. Each applicant must provide the following enclosures with the application</p><p> a) The completed application form</p><p> b) Two letters of recommendation from each of the following</p><p> i. A Mahnomen Area Sportsman Club Member</p><p> ii. Any other person of the applicants choosing</p><p>4. A letter about yourself and why the habit and environment are important to you.</p><p>5. Verification from your school that you are in compliance with your schools attendance policy.</p><p>6. Verification from your school that you are in the process of completing the necessary course work to be eligible for graduation in the application year.</p><p>7. High school transcripts</p><p>Awarding of the Scholarship</p><p>1. Selection: All applications that are received by the due date will be reviewed by a committee made up of Mahnomen Area Sportsman Club members. The committee will choose two applicants to receive the scholarship. The decision of the committee is final. 2. Notification and Award: Scholarship recipients will be notified by the Mahnomen Area Sportsman Club president. Certificates of award will be handed out in May, at a time and place designated by the club’s president. Checks will be presented during the month of November, ______(Grad Year) prior to presentation of the check the recipient must present to the club president verification of completion of the fall semester. In the event that the recipient does not enroll in an accredited post secondary institution in the fall semester following the award of the scholarship, the scholarship will be awarded to the first runner up.
