Hespe Commissioner</p><p>SUBJECT: State Board of Examiners Recommended Reappointments</p><p>I recommend the adoption of the attached resolution confirming the reappointments of three members to the State Board of Examiners. The terms of these three appointments are noted in the resolution. In adopting the attached resolution, the State Board of Education would approve the following reappointments:</p><p>TERMS EXPIRING ON SEPTEMBER 14, 2018:</p><p>Dr. Jonathan Dauber Dr. Timothy J. Purnell High School Principal Superintendent West Windsor – Plainsboro Public Schools Somerville Public Schools</p><p>Ms. Kristin Hennessy Teacher Brielle School District</p><p>N.J.S.A. 18A:6-38 provides the State Board of Examiners with authority for issuing, revoking and suspending educational certificates under rules prescribed by the State Board of Education. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:6-34, the membership of the State Board of Examiners shall include an assistant commissioner, a county superintendent, two presidents of State colleges, two district superintendents, a high school principal, an elementary school principal, a school business administrator, a librarian, and four teaching staff members other than a superintendent, principal, school business administrator or librarian.</p><p>In accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:6-34 and -35, all members of the State Board of Examiners shall be appointed by the Commissioner of Education with the approval of the State Board of Education for a term of two years. There are 14 positions on the board whose terms expire on a staggered schedule. Members may be reappointed after expiration of their terms. </p><p>RRH/ /Comm memo to SBE re reappointments 8.3.16.doc Attachments c: Kristen Brown Robert Higgins Adoption Resolution September 7, 2016</p><p>RESOLUTION STATE BOARD OF EXAMINERS REAPPOINTMENTS</p><p>WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:6-38, the State Board of Examiners is responsible for issuing, revoking and suspending educational certificates under rules prescribed by the State Board of Education; and </p><p>WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:6-34, members of the State Board of Examiners are appointed by the Commissioner of Education with the approval of the State Board of Education; and</p><p>WHEREAS, the Commissioner, after consulting with members of the education community, has recommended the reappointments of three member to the Board of Examiners; and</p><p>WHEREAS, the persons whom the Commissioner has recommended have established a reputation for distinguished service in their profession and on the Board of Examiners; now, therefore, be it</p><p>RESOLVED, that the State Board of Education hereby approves the reappointments of the following persons, whose terms shall expire on September 14, 2018:</p><p>Dr. Jonathan Dauber Dr. Timothy J.
