Under the Act, an academic activity may not exceed nine days at a single institution. In addition, such visa holders cannot accept honoraria and/or incident expenses from more than five such institutions or organizations in the previous six-month period. The provision is effective for activities occurring on or after October 21, 1998. The letter must include details of stay, statement that he will receive compensation for “Academic Activity” such as lecture, teaching, or research.  Passport</p><p>Entrance into U.S  Obtain INS Form I-94 from airline upon arrival. Complete it and present to INS or border official.  Present letter from SLCC regarding details of stay and that you will be receiving compensation.  The INS or border official should identify I-94 with correct visa status (B-1).</p>
