Commins and Mr. I. Harby Moses started 18 the company in late November 1952 at their first office located on 19 Main Street. The company changed locations over time, but their 20 dedication to their clients has been steadfast over the years; and 21 22 Whereas, Joe B. Davis, Jr., is the current owner of the real estate 23 company, purchased the company in the early 1990’s, but began 24 his career with Commins-Moses Real Estate Agency in 1968; and 25 26 Whereas, Mr. Moses persuaded Mr. Davis to leave the life 27 insurance industry and obtain a real estate license, an endeavor that 28 Mr. Davis has enjoyed for the past thirty-five years; and 29 30 Whereas, the goal of Coldwell Banker Commins-Moses Real 31 Estate Agency is to put the clients’ needs first and to be involved 32 with the community to better serve the clients. Community 33 involvement is something that Mr. Davis takes personally as a 34 former Sumter County Council chairman and former president of 35 the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce; and 36 37 Whereas, Mr. Davis has served as president of the Sumter Board 38 of Realtors, the South Carolina Association of Realtors, and the 39 National Association of Realtors, and he worked with several 40 community organizations including the Sumter Development 41 Board, the Disabilities and Special Needs Board in Sumter, and the 42 Shaw-Sumter Public Relations Council; and</p><p>1 [3784] 1 1 2 Whereas, the Coldwell Banker Commins-Moses Real Estate 3 Agency now employs twelve people including Joe B. Davis III, 4 Mr. Davis’ son, who is the property manager; and 5 6 Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are proud 7 to congratulate the Coldwell Banker Commins-Moses Real Estate 8 Agency on fifty years of exceptional service to the Sumter 9 community. Now, therefore, 10 11 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: 12 13 That the members of the House of Representatives, by this 14 resolution, congratulate the Coldwell Banker Commins-Moses 15 Real Estate Agency on fifty years of dedicated service to the 16 Sumter community and commend the agency on its personalized 17 service and community relations. 18 19 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to 20 the Coldwell Banker Commins-Moses Real Estate Agency of 21 Sumter. 22 ----XX---- 23</p><p>1 [3784] 2</p>
