<p> Homework Assignment #2 Due Date: February 22nd</p><p>Before completing the assignment review the Problem Statement and Problem Examples lecture notes. The assignment will be graded on grammar, spelling, and content. Use complete sentences for all answers. Your problem statement and goal should be clear and to the point. The assignment is worth 50 points. </p><p>1) Must be typed, 12 point Times New Roman, double spaced</p><p>2) Problem Statement – one (or two) grammatically correct and understandable sentence(s) stating the geographic problem statement. This statement will describe what will be researched.</p><p>3) Research Goal – one grammatically correct and understandable sentence explaining the purpose/usefulness of researching the problem statement. Things to consider when stating the research goal: a. Why is this research useful? b. Who will is be useful to? c. How can the results be implemented?</p><p>4) Subproblems – state at least two subproblems to the problem statement. Break down the problem statement into manageable parts (review what defines a subproblem, be careful not to state a pseudo subproblem).</p><p>5) Hypotheses – state at least one research hypothesis. What do you expect to be the result of the research? </p><p>6) Delimitations – state at least two delimitations about what the research WILL NOT do.</p><p>7) Assumptions – state at least one assumption related to your research</p><p>8) Study area – define your study area</p><p>9) Data – state the source(s) of the data you intend to use</p>
