<p>CANANDAIGUA ATHENA YOUNG PROFESSIONAL LEADERSHIP AWARD NOMINATION INSTRUCTIONS</p><p>The ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award actively supports and celebrates the ATHENA mission of supporting, developing and honoring women leaders, inspiring women to achieve their full potential— creating balance in leadership worldwide. </p><p>THE CRITERIA ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Nominees are emerging women leaders who meet each of the following criteria:  Demonstrates excellence, creativity and initiative in her business or profession  Provides valuable service to improve the quality of life for others in her community  Clearly serves as a role model for young women both personally and professionally</p><p>QUALIFICATIONS  ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award Nominees are 40 years of age or younger at the time of the nomination deadline.  ATHENA Young Professional Award Nominees may represent either the profit or not-for-profit sector.  Need to live or work in the Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce service area (Canandaigua, Naples, Victor, Farmington & Bloomfield areas).</p><p>COMPLETING THE FORM  You are encouraged to work closely with your nominee to complete their nomination.  Nominations must be submitted using this nomination form and format.  You may include supporting documents (articles, testimonials, etc) with your completed nomination form.  Deadline for submission and letters of support: SEPTEMBER 8, 2017.</p><p>THE PROCESS A Selection Committee, made up of a diverse group of community leaders, will review all nominations and select the ATHENA Young Professional Award Recipient. The recipient will be announced at the Annual ATHENA Awards Dinner on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Finger Lakes Community College Student Center. The ATHENA Leadership Model is comprised of eight core tenets:</p><p>1. Authentic Self: Understanding who you are - your values, beliefs and thoughts. Honoring your uniqueness. Accepting personal responsibility for your actions. 2. Celebration & Joy: Appreciating and acknowledging your accomplishments. Looking forward to your life with a sense of hope and purpose. 3. Collaboration: Reaching out beyond what you can achieve on your own. Working in unison with others, while celebrating diverse points of view, ideas and actions. 4. Courageous Acts: Standing up and standing firm in the face of fear. Taking risks to speak the truth or challenge the way things have always been done. 5. Fierce Advocacy: Supporting and acting on your passion for people, causes or ideas. Creating an unstoppable force for the greater good. 6. Giving Back: Serving the greater good. Committing to help your personal community of family, friends and peers as well as the global village at large. 7. Learning: Challenging yourself to listen and be open to what is new and unfamiliar. Expanding and developing your knowledge, skills and experiences. Teaching others. 8. Relationships: Connecting with and embracing others.
