This Assignment Is An Extension Of The Previous One, And You Will Actually Turn In Both Assignments As One

Apparent Motion Writing Assignment

This assignment is an extension of the previous one, and you will actually turn in both assignments as one. This is an actual graded assignment, so please take it seriously.

Develop your ideas into a full-blown experiment where you describe an unique aspect of apparent motion and compare it to the prediction of the model. Address the following points. It will probably take 2-3 pages in a word document. Also include in your email a saved copy of the apparent motion stimuli that the program allows you to save so we can try your designs.

1) First, describe your stimuli and what aspect of perception they are designed to address. Include a screenshot of the image and then provide a description of what you and others are seeing. Try to get the descriptions of a few people like your roommates or friends. Do people vary in what they see?

2) Next, talk about what the model seems to predict. Does it predict the same thing every time? How does its predictions depend on the parameters?

3) Finally, why is the model making the predictions it seems to be making? Do you believe that the model is an accurate representation of what humans perceive? What would you need to do to the model to make it more accurate?
