<p> WASECA PUBLIC SCHOOLS WASECA, MINNESOTA</p><p>The School Board of Independent School District No. 829 held a regular meeting on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 6:19 p.m. in the Central Intermediate School Auditorium. Board members present: Randy Zimmerman, Matt Johansen, Cathy Hoy, Jeff Hoelmer, SkiAnn Christiansen, Wendy Sandstrom, and Todd Zimmerman. Also in attendance: Brian Dietz, Superintendent of Schools and Elizabeth Beery, Director of Business Services.</p><p>1. Johansen moved, Hoy seconded a motion to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of September 15, 2011 and the special meeting of September 29, 2011. Unanimous.</p><p>2. Johansen moved, T. Zimmerman seconded a motion to approve the agenda with additions. Unanimous.</p><p>3. Hoy moved, Johansen seconded a motion to approve the claims for the month of September as follows: Accounts Payable: $631,849.09; Payroll: $589,959.88. Unanimous.</p><p>4. Elizabeth Beery presented the financial and enrollment reports to the school board.</p><p>5. Brian Dietz presented the superintendent’s report to the school board.</p><p>6. Johansen moved, T. Zimmerman seconded a motion to approve the Consent Agenda of Employment and Contract Approvals as presented:</p><p>EMPLOYMENT AND CONTRACT AGENDA a. Zimmerman moved, Christiansen seconded a motion to approve the 2011-2012 Teaching Staff Lane Change List as presented. Unanimous.</p><p>8. Johansen moved, T. Zimmerman seconded a motion to approve the collateral reports as presented. Unanimous.</p><p>9. T. Zimmerman moved, Hoy seconded a motion to approve the election judges for the upcoming special election as presented. Unanimous.</p><p>10. Hoy moved, Hoelmer seconded a motion to approve the Annual Report on Curriculum, Instruction and Student Performance (SAR Report) as presented by Bill Bunkers. Unanimous.</p><p>11. Johansen moved, Hoy seconded a motion to approve the Assurance of Compliance with State and Federal Law Prohibiting Discrimination as presented. Unanimous.</p><p>12. Hoelmer moved, Hoy seconded a motion to nominate Matt Johansen to the Continuing Education Relicensure Committee. Unanimous. </p><p>13. T. Zimmerman moved, Johansen seconded a motion to approve the catering contract with Grace Garden Childcare. Unanimous.</p><p>14. Discussed future work session start times and decided to leave it at 5:30 p.m.</p><p>15. T. Zimmerman moved, Hoy seconded a motion to approve the recommendation from the Extracurricular Point Committee regarding the point allocation for the AVID Advisor position. Unanimous.</p><p>16. T. Zimmerman moved, Hoy seconded a motion to approve the following gifts/donations: Donation of 14 Mountain Bikes & Helmets valued at $3,388.00 from Gopher Sport; Donation of $108.10 to Central Intermediate School from Kemp’s Nickels for Schools; Donation of $739.00 from Christ the King Lutheran Church to purchase items for the Weekender Program; Donation of 7 Magic Tree House books to Hartley valued at $100.00 from the Janet Kummerfelt family; Donation of five puzzles to Hartley valued at $10.00 from the Woodruff family; Donation of $218.75 to Central Intermediate School from Target’s Take Charge of Education; Donation of $275.42 to Hartley from Target’s Red Card program; Donation of a physical therapy stander valued at $2000.00 from Shawn & Cheryl Slane; Donation of $1500.00 from Emerson Network Power; Donation from First National Bank of $250.00 to go towards video Podcast equipment and software; Donation from Hartley PTO of $100.00 for the Reading Incentives Program; Donation from Christ the King Lutheran Church of $500 for the Hartley snack program. Total gifts/donations: $9,189.27. Unanimous. 17. Johansen moved, Hoy seconded a motion to approve the Sixth Assignments from the September 15th and October 27th meeting. Unanimous.</p><p>18. Johansen moved, Hoy seconded a motion to go into closed session at 6:55 p.m. for student discipline. Unanimous.</p><p>19. Came out of closed session at 7:22 p.m.</p><p>20. Board Chairman R. Zimmerman gave a report regarding the agreement for Student #12506.</p><p>21.
