<p> Greek God/goddess poster project</p><p>Due Date: 9/15/15 Quiz Grade</p><p>Objective: To make an informative and colorful poster illustrating one of the main Greek gods or goddesses.</p><p>Directions: Students will research his or her assigned god/goddess. Then, create a poster to be presented in front of the class. </p><p>Option 1 Option 2 Make an informative poster. Make a “Wanted” poster. (easier if you have a god/goddess who did bad things.)</p><p>Requirements: Each poster should include the following:</p><p> The name of the god, clearly shown.</p><p> His or her relationship to Zeus (if any).</p><p> An image of the god/goddess properly attired for a classroom presentation, and equipped with objects often associated with the gods in general, or that particular god/goddess.</p><p> Other images associated with the assigned god/goddess, such as symbols.</p><p> A neat and brief summary of the god/goddesses story/myth, written in student’s own words. For option #2, this should be done in a story format, using the myth as a guide. </p><p> Use of color.</p><p>Presentation: Students should provide the teacher with a notecard or outline to be turned in with poster. Students may use it during his/her presentation, and it should contain the same information on the poster, but in more detail. Grading</p><p>Projects will be graded with the following weight:</p><p> Content: 50% (information is accurate and complete)</p><p> Creativity: 30% (including neatness and use of color)</p><p> Presentation: 15% (including clarity of speech, and readiness.)</p><p> Works Cited: 5% (listed on back of poster, 2 sources needed, MLA format)</p><p>Rubric for Content Portion of Wanted Poster/Poster: 40-50  Content provides enough description and is accurate.  Very few writing convention errors.  Titles, description and picture are neatly written, placed and cut.  Color and creativity make the poster attractive and interesting. 30-40  Content mostly provides enough description and is mostly accurate.  A few writing convention errors.  Titles, description and picture are mostly neatly written, placed and cut.  Color and creativity mostly make the poster attractive and interesting. 20-30  Content somewhat provides enough description and is somewhat accurate.  Some writing convention errors.  Titles, description and picture are somewhat neatly written, placed and cut.  Color and creativity somewhat make the poster attractive and interesting. 10-20  Content does not provide enough description and is not accurate.  Many writing convention errors.  Titles, description and picture are not neatly written, placed and cut.  Color and creativity do not make the poster attractive or interesting.  Zeus (Jupiter, in Roman mythology): the king of all the gods (and father to many) and god of weather, law and fate  Hera (Juno): the queen of the gods and goddess of women and marriage  Aphrodite (Venus): goddess of beauty and love  Apollo (Apollo): god of prophesy, music and poetry and knowledge  Ares (Mars): god of war  Artemis (Diana): goddess of hunting, animals and childbirth  Athena (Minerva): goddess of wisdom and defense  Demeter (Ceres): goddess of agriculture and grain  Dionysos (Bacchus): god of wine, pleasure and festivity  Hephaistos (Vulcan): god of fire, metalworking and sculpture  Hermes (Mercury): god of travel, hospitality and trade and Zeus’s personal messenger  Poseidon (Neptune): god of the sea Other gods and goddesses sometimes included in the roster of Olympians are:  Hades (Pluto): god of the underworld  Hestia (Vesta): goddess of home and family</p><p>Aether The god of the upper air and light</p><p>Ἀνάγκη (Anánkē) Ananke The goddess of inevitability, compulsion, and necessity.</p><p>Χάος (Cháos) Chaos The nothingness from which all else sprang.</p><p>The god of time. Erebus</p><p>Gaia or Gaea or Personification of the Earth (Mother Earth); mother of the Γαῖα (Gaîa) Ge Titans.</p><p>Ἡμέρα (Hēméra) Hemera Goddess of daylight.
