It is best to use Internet Explorer when doing your WeBWorK Problems. Other web browsers make work but are not as reliable for WeBWorK.

2. The square root of the number is entered by enclosing it with parenthesis using the sqrt function. For example, to enter 11 , enter sqrt(11). Also, to compute the natural logarithm of a number, say 11, enter ln(11). Enter pi for the number  .

3. Variables should be entered using lowercase variables, for example x, instead of uppercase, X. 4. Exponents are enter using the caret key ^. For example, to enter x3  x2  2 , enter x^3+x^2-2.

5. .If you enter an answer that WeBWorK determines that is not correct that you strongly feel is correct, try the Preview Answer option. This option can help you determine if you have left out needed parenthesis or have other minor syntax problems. Proper parenthesis are important – for example, you should x2 1 understand why the fractional expression should be entered correctly as (x^2+1) / (x^3-1) but x3 1 why, for example, the expression x^2+1 / x^3-1 is incorrect.

6. If using a decimal to approximate an answer, use at least 3 non-zero digits to the right of the decimal. For example, to enter 1/15, enter at least 0.0667. If only 0.067 is entered, WeBWorK would count the result incorrect. To be safe, enter as many decimal digits as your calculator displays.
