<p> Creating Environments of Resiliency and Hope in Ohio 2015 Trauma-Informed Care Summit Call for Workshop Proposals</p><p>June 17, 2015 Columbus, Ohio</p><p>The OhioMHAS and Department of Developmental Disabilities is now accepting proposals for the Second Annual Trauma-Informed Care Summit. One part of the Summit will feature Ohio Trauma-Informed Care Champions. If you would like to submit a proposal to present at the June 17, 2015 Summit, in Columbus, please note the following important information:</p><p> Submission Deadline: Friday April 17, 2015.  All proposals must be submitted electronically at www.oacca.org/events/ticsummit/  All presenters will have to register for the conference. Details forthcoming  All sessions will be 75 minutes in length (! Hour 15 minutes)</p><p>Summit Learning Objectives </p><p> Recognize trauma as a public health concern by increasing awareness of trauma’s impact on the emotional and physical well-being of Ohioans.  Recognize the impact of trauma on special populations and delivering trauma-informed approaches to special populations.  Promote Trauma-informed care principles that are: o Based on a public health model o Culturally and intellectually sensitive o Developmentally appropriate  Support of regional or cross-system collaboration regarding trauma-informed care and based upon sound data.  Enhance community based capacity to deliver trauma-informed evidence-based practices.  Support communities in developing comprehensive workforce investment strategies.  Support trauma-informed care and policies that are driven by outcomes.  Showcase Ohio agencies and organizations that have become trauma-informed. Workshop Criteria</p><p>The OhioMHAS and DODD encourage workshop proposals from individuals and programs that correspond with one of the four tracks listed below and that exemplify:</p><p> Knowledge of research and evidence-based trauma approaches.  Organization change necessary to become trauma-informed.  Networking and coordination across multiple systems as necessary for the delivery of effective evidence-based strategies and as key to trauma-informed approaches at the county and community level.  The impact of trauma on special populations and the delivery of trauma-informed approaches to special populations. </p><p>Proposal Guidelines</p><p> Presenter names, titles and credentials  Agency information (address, phone, website)  Title and Summary  Three Learning Objectives  Workshop Description  Resumes/bios of each presenter must be included when the proposal is submitted</p><p>We appreciate the dedication you have demonstrated by submitting your proposal to present at the 2015 Trauma-Informed Care Summit. </p><p>Submission Deadline: Friday April 17, 2015 Proposals can be submitted at: www.oacca.org/events/ticsummit/ </p>
