<p>PresseInfo </p><p>October 2008</p><p>High end Vacuum clamping tombstone for machining multiple plastic parts</p><p>Recently a customer approached Witte with a request for a clamping cube or tombstone for machining plastic parts completely on 5 sides in only one clamping process. It was manufactured in high-tensile aluminium and hides a secret: A sophisticated internal vacuum system with valve control, tanks and mechanical close couplings for automatic and manual coupling process. The tombstone measures 800x700x700mm and is mounted on a base plate which is set up on the machine. There are several vacuum chucks on each side for clamping different sized parts, each with its own tank. These chucks are supplied with vacuum manually or semi-automatically while 20 workpieces are clamped simultaneously for machining. Modular vacuum units and integrated safety switches ensure safe, monitored part clamping. </p><p>Photo 1: Vacuum clamping tombstone with chucks in different formats </p><p>Photo 2: For mounting on the machine table the tombstone was provided with a base plate.
