<p>Project 2 C. Physician and Patient Educational Materials</p><p>As a medical professional organization, AAPLOG has the unique ability to author and disseminate authoritative educational documents. These documents also set the peer standard for pro-life physicians, and carry weight in both the professional and legal arenas. There are two components to this project: AAPLOG Practice Bulletins/Committee Opinions and Patient Educational Bulletins.</p><p>1. AAPLOG Practice Bulletins and Committee Opinions</p><p>As a medical professional organization, AAPLOG has launched our “Practice Bulletin” series with the topic of “Perinatal Hospice”. (See attached Practice Bulletin 1) Our planned upcoming titles include:</p><p> a. Conscientious Objection</p><p> b. Abortion Pill Reversal: The use of progesterone to rescue mifepristone poisoning </p><p> c. Appropriate use of Prenatal Genetic Diagnosis</p><p> d. Termination for Sex Selection </p><p> e. Other titles…</p><p>The development of these Practice Bulletins and Committee Opinions is central to the mission of AAPLOG by providing the professional evidence-based rationale for pro-life physicians to practice. Our Practice Bulletins and Committee Opinions will allow the pro-life medical practitioner to be able to withstand the challenges to practice that are currently presented by pro-abortion documents produced by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, such as ACOG Ethics Statement #385, which states that according to ACOG, it is unethical to NOT PERFORM ABORTIONS and others. ACOG misuses its authority as the largest professional organization of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in the country to push a radical pro-abortion agenda. We, as AAPLOG, stand as the professional voice of pro-life obstetricians and gynecologists, defending the pro-life practice of our membership, and all medical professionals who defend the life of both the mother and her unborn child. These AAPLOG Practice Bulletins and Committee Opinions stand as the professional defense of pro-life medical practitioners.</p><p>Budget for Practice Bulletins (PB) and Committee Opinion (CO) production:</p><p>Research and text production approx. 30 hours at $50/hour $1500</p><p>Bulletin design: (Kinetic Media 2014 cost $350) 2015 est $ 500</p><p>Bulletin printing: (2014 cost for 2500 $1665) 2015 est $2000</p><p>Total Grant request per PB or CO: $4000 Life. Patient Educational Materials </p><p>AAPLOG has developed a set of patient educational brochures explaining in lay terms the long term detrimental effects of abortion on women as evidenced in the peer-reviewed medical literature. (A sample of these brochures is enclosed). We are currently contracted with Kinetic Media for the production and distribution of these brochures. </p><p>AAPLOG has currently purchased brochures in English for distribution at medical conferences, and for discounted sale to members. This year AAPLOG has also funded a Spanish translation of these brochures, but is seeking funding to purchase the brochures for distribution. </p><p>Cost for printing 2500 English/Spanish brochures ($2000)</p><p>AAPLOG has had requests to translate these brochures into Korean, Mandarin, German and French. The costs are translation ($500) and printing ($2000)</p><p>AAPLOG is also seeking funding for distributing these brochures for free to Pregnancy Resource Centers. Budget for free distribution of 50 copies of each brochure to Pregnancy Resource Centers who are currently organizational members of AAPLOG: (150 centers x $200/set = $30,000)</p><p>Grant Request: </p><p>For printing Spanish brochures for distribution at conferences: $2000</p><p>For production of alternative language brochures (translation and printing) $2500/language</p><p>For purchase of English/Spanish brochure sets to be gifted to Pregnancy Resource Centers who are AAPLOG Organizational members: (150 organizations) $30,000 Life.
