Applications must be complete when turned in. Incomplete, invalid, or fraudulent applications will not be accepted. If this application is successful, those named above cannot participate in Room Selection. Signatures are required in all cases except for students currently studying abroad. Signatures represent intent to live on campus and constitute a housing agreement for the following year. Fraudulent applications include signing up for a space knowing that someone on your application intends to live off-campus or withdraw. Students going abroad Fall Semester cannot be on any application. Students not registered full-time for Fall at the end of Spring Semester may have their assigned housing assignment revoked. Residence Life reserves the right to assign other students to a theme house if occupancy requirements are not met (please refer to the end of this application for occupancy requirement). Room assignments for students who have chosen to live together should remained unchanged for at least the first semester.</p><p>An alternate is someone who agrees to have their housing assignment changed and be moved into the house if a vacancy occurs from the group above. The alternate will be notified (not consulted) by Residence Life if their housing assignment is changed.</p><p>Alternate (required): ______</p><p>Alternate (if group is co-ed, a second alternate of another gender is required.) ______</p><p>Applications are due Monday, February 27, to Residence Life at Student Development. At the time of submission, please sign up for a 30 minute interview on Feb. 28. The sign-up sheet will be at the front desk of Student Development. We know not everyone will be able to be there, but please have as many as possible at the interview. Theme House Information and Requirements  Theme Houses are an opportunity for students with common interests to live in a college-owned house.  Each Theme House group needs to have an average of a 2.7 cumulative GPA for the group to be eligible for a theme house.  No applicant can be on disciplinary probation  The group can be co-ed, however, each bedroom must be single-gender.  Each house is required to accomplish some theme related project each semester. Each house member is required to complete 15 hours of community service (not necessarily theme related) each semester.  Failure to complete requirements may lead to a lottery number addition. Personal Statement Each NEW member applying for a theme house is asked to type a personal statement regarding the following aspects of being part of a theme house:  Why do you want to be part of a theme house?  How will you contribute to the house?  What do you hope to achieve through participation in the particular theme of the house and the programming/service aspect of the house?</p><p>Short Answer Section: Please answer the following questions as a group. Please answer thoroughly. Please attach a separate sheet of paper with your answers. 1. What progress have you made reaching the goals that you set with your group when first applying for a theme house? What new goals would you establish? 2. What have you accomplished as a house? What do you wish to accomplish in the spring semester? 3. If your group is to return as a theme house next year what changes would you make or what would you do differently? What direction will your theme take on? 4. How will you integrate new members into the group and theme? 5. How would you describe your relationship with your house advisor? What role have they played in your accomplishments?</p>
